Studio A is one of the best sounding live rooms in Ohio. It is also the largest studio at Musicol. Ohio's best artists in Soul, Gosiple, Rock, Psych, Jazz, New Wave, Hip Hop, Punk and Blues have recorded in this room over the last 45 years. It has ample space for tracking choirs, jazz ensembles, small to medium orchestras, and rock groups. It has a large footprint with an adjacent choir riser and isolation booth. The sonic charcter of the room is unique. The live room is reasonably dead for plenty of isolation even with multiple musicians playing together in the same space. It has 20" foot high cielings and an exceptionally even frequency response.

Studio A is proud to be home to one of the finest collection of microphones in Ohio. In Studio A, you can track through an army of Vintage Neumann, RCA and sennheiser mics. Tracking is usually done to the 3M M56 2" 16 track tape machine, the MCI JH-24 2" 24 track tape machine, and/or the 96kHz Pro-Tools HD3 system. It has Ampex and Studer 1/4" 2 track machines for mixdown. It has some of the finest tube mic-pre amps, limiters and equalisers ever built in it's racks, as well as an amazing selection of solid state dynamics processing and effects, including UREI 1176's and an Echoplate plate reverb unit.
